New Year upon us.

The Santa Clarita Maddogs open up the Regular Season against the Foothill Firehawks Aug 15th @ Castaic Middle School at 12pm. The O is lead by QB Brian Bauer and RB Steve Smith. On the other side of the ball the LB and D line have made a big impact so fare in the preseason. The Dogs look to have the players in place to go fare in the regular season and win the North Div.
Pre season Notes:
The Maddogs finish 5th out of 12 teams in the Titan Air show. A 7 on 7 tournament with every team in it from the LCFL.
The Dogs Open the Pre season with a 38-22 lose Vs. The Cali Cardinals(a playoff team from 08'). We traveled out to beautiful Apple Valley for our first preseason game, Thanks to the Cards for putting on a good venue and a good game.
The Second Pre season say the Dogs pinned up against the O.C. Ravens another ruff team that brings a vary good D to the table. As the score did not fall in favor to the Dogs 14-8. The game was a seesaw battle that was decided in the last min. of the game as the Dogs were forced to throw it up on 4th down. The coaching staff was able to look at alot of players and it was a vary good preseason game to watch and be apart of.
On Aug 8th the Maddogs hit the road again for their final Pre season game vs. The So.Cal Eagles. As things looked to come together for the Maddogs. The running game open up and the Dogs finished the Pre season on a high note, with a 38-6 victory.
The Maddog Family would like say congrats to Rick Quorp and Family. Rick has decided to hang up the cleats and retire to spend more time with his Family as they are expecting a new addition. Rick will be missed as he was a DB/K mainstay for 3 years.

Looking Forward

The Santa Clarita Maddogs look to open their preseason with the O.C. Ravens. Aug 1st down in Raven Country. As this is a preseason game that both teams look to build on going into the regular season. Their are a lot of Questions that need to be answered about where these teams stand. Only time will tell. But on Aug.1 we will have a better understanding on what these teams will bring this season.

I as a player I can't wait tell the season starts and with the season right around the corner, teams will have a better idea of were they stand and have a better understanding on what they need to do to get better. Our team is up for the challenge and with the changes team owner Brad Tyer has made, this looks and feels like a whole new beginning for the Maddogs in 09'. Coach Mike has taken a group of Vet players and went around the surrounding area's to find talent to bring into the Maddog family to compete in the LCFL West North Division. With players jumping teams threw out the league the division is up for grabs. A the Dogs will have something to say this year.

As of the request of Brad Tyer, owner of the Maddogs I took down my last post. Please understand that this is a player's Blog. The Maddogs are a outstanding organization that wants the best for its players and coaches. Their goal is to put a professional team out on the field in the Santa Clarita Valley. In this players eyes the players that went over and started the Sentinels did not want anything to do with the Maddogs even tho they were invited to their try out. I understand that is your right, But please understand this is my player Blog and I have my own opinions. If you don't like them stay off. #54
